Jared & Rachael

After serving his country as a United States Marine, Jared returned home with a continued desire to serve others. He carried that commitment into a career in law enforcement, dedicating himself to protecting and supporting the community he proudly calls home.

Having lived in the Coeur d’Alene area for more than two decades, Jared has built lasting relationships with veterans from all walks of life. Through those friendships and conversations, he has seen both the incredible strengths veterans bring to their communities and the challenges many face after military service. Those experiences sparked a vision: creating a place where veterans could reconnect with purpose, learn valuable skills, support one another, and continue serving in meaningful ways.

Whether mentoring others, lending a helping hand, or simply taking the time to listen, Jared believes that service doesn’t end when the uniform comes off. Reforged is his way of helping ensure that every veteran has a place where they are welcomed, valued, and surrounded by a community that understands.

Rachael has always believed that some of the most meaningful work we can do is helping others feel seen, supported, and empowered.

Her connection to the veteran community began long before Reforged. Growing up as the daughter of a Navy veteran, she witnessed firsthand both the sacrifices military families make and the challenges many veterans face after their service ends. She watched her mother struggle to access medical care through an overburdened system and saw how difficult it could be to find the mental health support she deserved. Those experiences left a lasting impression and inspired a deep desire to help create something different.

Throughout her life, Rachael has been drawn to projects centered on service, community, and bringing people together. She believes that healing often happens through connection, shared purpose, and the opportunity to create something meaningful alongside others.

Reforged is the realization of that vision—a place where veterans can discover new skills, build lasting friendships, continue serving their communities, and know they never have to navigate life’s challenges alone. For Rachael, Reforged is more than a nonprofit; it’s a way to honor those who have served by helping create opportunities, hope, and a renewed sense of purpose for the next chapter of their lives.
